Also known as DSIP
DSIP, also known as delta sleep-inducing peptide (DSIP), is a sleep-promoting factor. In addition to having the ability to promote or induce sleep in animals, DSIP also elicits effects such as thermoregulation, modification in heart rate, blood pressure, and pain. DSIP is considered an endogenous neuropeptide which can cross the blood-brain barrier.
